I am sure, however, that their heartiness is also key to their survival, and they'll be around for a long time. The beautiful mountains in Elk, Juniata, Lycoming, and many other PA counties will be a safe haven for these snakes for years to come.

They are great snakes.

Wow, I really miss PA now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13801645.post-39652019141081306592008-11-03T07:53:00.000-08:002008-11-03T07:53:00.000-08:00Herpers always obsess over snakes that are difficu...Herpers always obsess over snakes that are difficult to find. A season finding many black rats would quickly make you forget about them, so be glad they are avoiding you for now. For me, I always begin to wonder if collectors are responsible or maybe predators, and then I have one of those days where I find quite a few of what I am looking for and those suspicions go away.
RobbyRobbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12951228176045369013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13801645.post-55826483638671883422008-10-31T19:13:00.000-07:002008-10-31T19:13:00.000-07:00Pantherophis obsoleta is one of the truly great ea...Pantherophis obsoleta is one of the truly great eastern snakes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
