Hi Philly-area herp enthusiasts, here's the lowdown on the next herp society meeting. The society is now called (we hope this is a final name) the Delaware Valley Herpetological Society. We need to be clear that this is a distinct entity from the old Philadelphia Herpetological Society.

Anyhow, here's the flyer contents for the next meeting. We might switch the order around for the business/educational/turtle walk components of the meeting, but it'll be a good time with a nice mix of educational and just plain fun turtle watching:

The Delaware Valley Herpetological Society

(formerly the Greater Philadelphia Herpetological Society)

Invite you to celebrate

WORLD TURTLE DAY

with them at the Heinz Wildlife Refuge

Saturday Morning, 23 May 2009

starting at 9AM in the Cusano Center

Gary Stolz will welcome us to the refuge and show us around. His talk will be followed by a DVHS business meeting to discuss changes to the Constitution and Bylaws. Once the sun is high in the sky, we will go out turtle-spotting. If we don’t get our fill of turtles, we may visit one or two more sites.

Bring your binoculars or spotting scopes, cameras with telephoto lenses, and field notebooks.
