Here’s an update on the baby browns. We let them go on Saturday (August 12) back in the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
They had refused all the food we could find to throw at them – whole small worms, chopped worms, chopped slugs. They had refused them in different cage arrangements. They just weren’t going to start eating without even more experimentation (it would be great if I could find baby slugs, but I can’t find baby slugs).
It was all getting too time consuming for us, and the longer they went without eating, the worse their odds were when released, and their odds were already pretty poor. So, that’s the end of this little story. I wish them luck.
